Galway County Council's housing department provides affordable homes for people who cannot secure housing through the private market. It supports vulnerable groups and is guided by national strategies like Housing for All to promote inclusive, sustainable communities.

Affordable housing

Under the Affordable Housing Purchase Scheme, Galway County Council will assist eligible members of the public to purchase new homes at a reduced price, retaining an equity share in the property, for buyers who are seeking to purchase a newly built home but whose combined mortgage and deposit will not cover the market price of the newly built property.
