Cruinniú na nÓg

Cruinniú na nÓg is Ireland’s National Day of Creativity for Children and Young People, the only day of its kind in Europe

Each year in June, Galway County Council supports free creative projects for young people in every corner of the county. In 2025, we supported 59 projects, 52% of which either incorporated, or were fully through the Irish language.

The goal of Cruinniú na nÓg is to ensure that every child in the country has equal access and opportunity to explore their creativity and engage with the arts.

For the last 2 years running we have successfully secured additional funding to run programmes on the Aran Islands. This has grown hugely since it began in 2024 and received a great deal of media attention with a feature on Cúla4 this year.

The Cruinniú na nÓg Open Call opens early in the year and closes by late March.
