Active Travel Scheme – Church Road, Headford

Galway County Council, in partnership with the National Transport Authority, is developing an Active Travel scheme for Church Road in Headford, including the access road to Presentation College. The project focuses on improving local infrastructure, creating safer crossing points, and enhancing the visibility and safety of the school zone to support safer travel for all members of the community. Abnormal loads

A Local Authority may in accordance with Section 13 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 and the Road Traffic (Construction and Use of Vehicles) Regulations 1963 – 2003 issue a special permit authorising particular vehicles which contravene the maximum weight and dimensions of mechanically propelled vehicles and trailers to be used on public roads.
