Galway County Council, in partnership with the National Transport Authority, has developed an Active Travel scheme for Church Road in Headford, including the access road to Presentation College.

The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026 introduce updated exempted development provisions for residential properties, supporting the more efficient use and adaptation of existing homes while reducing regulatory requirements for homeowners. The regulations came into effect on 27 July 2026 and amend the Planning and Development Regulations 2001.

Report vehicles abandoned in public places

Outlines the legal process for removing a road from public maintenance, including public notices, consultation, and approval requirements.

A Local Authority may in accordance with Section 13 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 and the Road Traffic (Construction and Use of Vehicles) Regulations 1963 – 2003 issue a special permit authorising particular vehicles which contravene the maximum weight and dimensions of mechanically propelled vehicles and trailers to be used on public roads.
