BoxUp Sports Equipment Lockers
BoxUp is a free outdoor locker system that allows the public to borrow sports and leisure equipment for up to three hours using a dedicated mobile app.
To access the equipment:
- Download the BoxUp app
- Register your account
- Provide a valid form of identification

Galway Sports Partnership has installed 9 BoxUp units across Galway:
Galway City:
- Ballybane
- Doughiska
- McGrath’s Field
- O'Sullivan Park
- Renmore
- Salthill Park
- South Park
- Westside Park
Galway County:

Tuam Palace Grounds
These units have been well-used by people of all ages since their installation in January 2025.
The Box Up Units have been funded by Community Recognition Fund in Galway City through Galway City Council and through the Healthy Ireland Fund in Galway County.
