Notice of the making of the Variation No.1 to the 

Galway County Development Plan 2022-2028

Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended

Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended

Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Acts, 2000 (as amended) that Galway County Council, being the Planning Authority for County Galway, at their meeting of Monday 16th February 2026, made Variation (No. 1) of the Galway County Development Plan 2022-2028 in respect of the following:

Part A: Review and update of the existing Housing Strategy and Housing Need and Demand Assessment of the Galway County Development Plan with associated updates to the County Development Plan.

Part B: Updates to existing Policy Objectives and narrative in the County Development Plan which will place a renewed focus on Residential Phase 2 lands in the County.

Part C: Rectification of Land use Zoning Map for Oranmore.

The Galway County Development Plan 2022-2028, together with the Variation and associated SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) and AA (Appropriate Assessment) screening reports are available to view and download online at:
