Traffic Management Plans
Plans are developed to optimise road use, with public consultation and input from local stakeholders before implementation.
Traffic Management Plans are prepared with the aim of maximising the use of the current road networks. The process is as follows:
- Drafting: Proposals for the scheme are drafted by Galway County Council.
- Public Display: A notice is published advising that the scheme will be on public display for one month.
- Submissions: Submissions are accepted for a further two weeks from the end of the display period.
- Consultation: Proposals are sent to elected members, An Garda Síochána, and relevant local bodies for comment within the same timeframe.
- Finalisation: The final scheme is drawn up, incorporating changes from the consultation process.
- Notification: A notice is published stating the scheme’s effective date and where copies are available for public viewing.
