Traffic Management Plans

Traffic Management Plans are prepared with the aim of maximising the use of the current road networks. The process is as follows: Proposals for the scheme are drafted by the Council and a notice is published advising that the scheme will be on public display for one month and submissions will be received for a further two weeks from that date The proposals are also sent to the elected members, Gardai and relevant local bodies for comment within the above timeframe. The final scheme is drawn up to include changes arising from these consultations and it is placed before the members of the Council for their information A notice is published advising that the scheme will come into effect on a stated day and that copies of the scheme are available at stated locations for the information of the public.

Traffic Management Plans

  2. Public Display: A notice is published advising that the scheme will be on public display for one month.
  3. Submissions: Submissions are accepted for a further two weeks from the end of the display period.
  4. Consultation: Proposals are sent to elected members, An Garda Síochána, and relevant local bodies for comment within the same timeframe.
  5. Finalisation: The final scheme is drawn up, incorporating changes from the consultation process.
  6. Notification: A notice is published stating the scheme’s effective date and where copies are available for public viewing.
