Parking bye laws

Galway County Council adopted Parking Places Bye-Laws, Car Park Bye-Laws and Taxi Bye-Laws to regulate and manage traffic and parking in 5 towns in the County: Tuam, Loughrea, Clifden (Cleggan), Athenry, and Portumna (Marina).

Parking Bye-Laws

Galway County Council regulates parking and traffic in five towns through adopted bye-laws and monitored Pay and Display zones.

Galway County Council has adopted Parking Places Bye-Laws, Car Park Bye-Laws, and Taxi Bye-Laws to regulate and manage traffic and parking in the following towns:

  • Tuam
  • Loughrea
  • Clifden (Cleggan)
  • Athenry
  • Portumna (Marina)

Parking Bye-Laws are in place in each town to facilitate proper and efficient traffic management. Community Wardens ensure adherence to these bye-laws through ongoing monitoring. Pay and Display Parking is in place in designated areas to support traffic flow and ensure parking availability for those using services in the towns.
