The initiative follows the experience of Storm Éowyn in January 2025, when the benefits of such centres were keenly felt across County Galway as communities confronted widespread disruption.
The centres are designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for residents affected by adverse conditions, offering access to essential services such as water and hot food, phone charging and broadband, and toilet facilities.
Groups or facility operators willing to assist are asked to complete the Expression of Interest Form via https://forms.office.com/e/Lrk5J59vb3.
