Galway County Council Archives provides access to historical records and offers guidance to researchers. While we do not conduct original research, we are happy to assist with enquiries about our collections.

We can advise on relevant collections and items available in our Archives, which can be accessed in person by appointment.

Note: We do not hold Birth, Death, or Marriage records. These are maintained by the Civil Registration office. Historic records can be viewed at www.irishgenealogy.ie.

Family History

Galway County Council Archives does not undertake family history research on behalf of the public. However, we can provide advice on local and family history resources available in our collections.
