Municipal District Meetings
Galway County is divided into 5 Municipal District areas. Elected Members represent both the Municipal District and the County.
The Elected Council makes policies for the County. Members of the Municipal District make decisions for their area as part of the overall Council. Elected Councils, whether at the County or Municipal District level, have certain legal powers called 'Reserved Functions'.

- Municipal District of Athenry
Covers the local electoral area of Athenry–Oranmore - Municipal District of Ballinasloe
Covers the local electoral area of Ballinasloe - Municipal District of Conamara
Covers the local electoral areas of Conamara North and Conamara South - Municipal District of Loughrea
Covers the local electoral areas of Loughrea and Gort–Kinvara - Municipal District of Tuam
Covers the local electoral area of Tuam
