Bring Banks are large containers where the public can recycle small household items such as glass, aluminium cans, and textiles, free of charge. Galway County Council provides Bring Banks for glass and cans at 86 locations across the County. Textile Banks are provided by a Private Company at many of these locations.
What you can recycle at Bring Banks
GLASS:
Washed and clean bottles and jars. You should separate these by colour into the relevant container (clear, green, and brown) as this is important for the recycling process.
Do not put ceramics or flat glass such as window glass, drinking glasses, or glass cookware into the glass recycling banks as it will cause contamination.
CANS:
Washed and cleaned aluminium drink cans.
Do not put metal food cans and metal lids into the Aluminium Banks as these should be recycled through your normal household recycling bin.
TEXTILES:
Clean, dry, and good quality clothes, pairs of shoes, bed linen.
Do not put duvets, pillows, and damaged clothing into the textile banks.
