Local Area Plans (LAPs)
A Local Area Plan (LAP) sets out the strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of a specific area within a local authority. The objectives in a LAP must align with those in the County Development Plan and must include information on the likely significant effects on the environment resulting from its implementation.
Galway County has Local Area Plans in place for the following settlements:
