Galway County Council invites the community to participate in an online public consultation on the preferred design option for the Portumna Swimming Area. The proposed development for the Portumna Outdoor Recreation Building & Park aims to create a vibrant outdoor recreation, community and tourism destination. Key features include a water sports and recreation hub, improved walking and cycling connections, enhanced biodiversity and sustainability measures, and a high-quality public park that promotes health, wellbeing and community engagement. The online survey will remain open from 11th September 2026 to 25th September 2026.
Landscape and Design Maps will be available for public viewing at Portumna Library and Portumna Courthouse during normal opening hours.
An Open Viewing Day will also take place at Portumna Courthouse from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the 21st and 22nd September 2026, providing an opportunity for members of the public to review the proposals.
