€100,000 Awarded to 12 Galway Community Environmental Projects

Twelve community projects across County Galway are to share €100,000 in funding for biodiversity, climate action and environmental improvements under the Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF). Galway County Council approved the funding at its July meeting, with €50,000 provided by IPB Insurance to mark its centenary and a further €50,000 contributed by the local authority.

Groups awarded funding include:

  • Milltown Tidy Towns (€15,000)
  • Woodford Parish Development (€12,703)
  • Ballygar Tidy Towns (€12,523)
  • Oranmore Tidy Towns (€10,000)
  • Clifden Tidy Towns (€9,757)
  • Tuam Tidy Towns (€6,072)
  • Kinvara Tidy Towns (€6,042)
  • Portumna Tidy Towns (€4,656)
  • Mountbellew District & Development Association (€3,000)
  • Kilkerrin Tidy Towns (€1,127)
  • Coiste na mBailte Slachtmhara an Spidéil (€1,120)

The projects are designed to enhance biodiversity, improve local environments and support sustainable communities across the county.
