This is the Council's fourth annual report on the differences in pay between female and male Council employees and has been made available to all of Galway County Council’s Employees. The issue of gender pay differences is an important one, not only to the workplace but to wider society. People are at the core of our
organisation – we continue to strive to promote and sustain an inclusive organisational culture which provides equality of opportunity and where every employee feels valued.
Galway County Council has today (27th November 2025) published its Gender Pay Gap Report, highlighting the percentage difference between what men and women are paid on average in the organisation, irrespective of roles or levels.
The 2025 report shows a Gender Pay Gap of 3.07%. This means that on average, males are paid 3.07% more than females. This does not mean that females are paid less than males for doing the same job, but it does show that on average, males occupy higher paid roles than females.
