Dog Breeding Establishments

Anyone who has six or more female dogs over six months of age that are capable of breeding must register with Galway County Council under the Dog Breeding Establishment Act 2010.

Failure to register is an offence.

Registered establishments are listed on the Register of Dog Breeding Establishments, which can be viewed below. These establishments must comply with specific standards for the welfare of the dogs, including appropriate accommodation, environment, and health practices. The local authority inspects registered establishments to ensure compliance with the regulations.
