Drive for Life Programme

Galway County Council is promoting the ‘Drive for Life’ Programme, which is a one-day course offered to transition/ fourth year students in County Galway secondary schools.

It aims to raise awareness of road safety and mould attitudes of young drivers-to-be before they actually start to drive.  The Programme is aimed at preventing young people becoming involved in road traffic incidents that all too often result in serious injury or death.

The Course is run by Bayside Services, Achill, Co. Mayo and the total cost of the one-day course for the 2009/2010 school year is €395.  In September, ’09, the Council notified each secondary school of this worthwhile course and provides €200 subvention to schools who take part in it.

If you would like to register for the Course or you require further information, please contact Bayside Services directly on (098) 43766 / email: bayside@eircom.net.

Further information also available from the Council’s Road Safety Officer, Ms. Deirdre Caulfield on (091) 509360.
