Road Safety Poster Competitions

In 2006, Galway County Council invited all national schools in County Galway to design a Road Safety Poster.  The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness of road safety in young children.  Eighteen schools in the county submitted entries and a total of 515 posters were received.  The Council’s Arts Officer and Road Safety Officer adjudicated on the entries.  Mayor of Galway, Councillor Michael Mullins, presented prizes and certificates to the successful pupils on 31st May, 2007.  The posters were on display in the Council’s Foyer for a number of weeks.
