Galway County Council wish to advise Householders and Commercial outlets that it is a criminal offence to use the services of Bogus Waste Collectors in regard to the removal & disposal of waste. You are liable for prosecution if your waste is found illegally dumped.

Bogus Waste Collectors normally advertise their services by means of flyers inserted into letterboxes.

The services advertised include the removal of all types of waste and garage clean outs.

All valid waste contractors are required to carry a waste permit with them at all times.

The Permit Number must be displayed on the collection vehicle along with their name & address.

If you engage the services of a waste collector always check that they are licenced to remove Domestic & Commercial waste. This is shown at Page 1on the Conditions of the Permit.
