Implementation
Galway County Development Board (CDB), has an overall responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of the eight themes of the Galway County Strategy. Implementation of actions in the Strategy is the responsibility of the agreed Lead Partner organisations in collaboration with other organisations.
The 2009 Review, generated Five Strategic Priorities for the 2009-2012 period which are inter-linked with the eight themes of the County Strategy. Project Teams are formed around specific actions and are linked to the sub-structures of the Board for monitoring purposes. Over the next three years the Board, sub-structures and project teams will concentrate on the implementation and monitoring of the Five Strategic Priorities.
Staff of Galway County Councils, Community, Enterprise and Economic Development Unit act as links for each of the sub-structures and project teams and liaise with the designated contact in the lead partner organisations.
Support for project teams is provided by staff from the Lead Partner organisation and in a number of instances, the Unit's staff also facilitate project teams providing research and project management support
to progress the delivery of actions.
