Communicating Arts Supporting Travellers
Galway County Council in partnership with County Galway VEC submitted an application under STRAND 2 of the Pobal Traveller Interagency Fund for 4 projects (keeping in mind the 'Communications' theme of this strand) in 2008. This application was successful and 4 projects have been delivered throughout the County which focussed on theatre, dance, drama and music. Each of the projects was managed locally by a project partner with assistance from Galway County Council. The projects have been supported by Pobal and the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform under the Fund for Interagency Projects in relation to the Traveller Community and also received financial support from Galway County Council (Arts Office & Social Inclusion Unit) and County Galway VEC.
