The Arts Office aims to explore the potential of Arts and Health Initiatives, to further include all members of the community in arts practice and to encourage a policy based approach to the development of Arts and Health in the County.

Burning Bright is a series of visual art residencies in Nursing homes throughout the County of Galway . Art workshops are facilitated by profesional artists who introduce participants to a selection of art materialsand techniques and encourage them to experiment. Each session is tailored to the needs and expectations of the individuals involved, allowing them to develop and explore their creativity at their own pace. The Burning Bright Project is a partnership project, which includes the following partners; The Arts Council, Galway County Council , Age Action West and Galway Arts Centre
Arts Ability ABU; Through the Arts programme people in the Brothers of Charity Services throughout the county have the opportunity to partake in community arts events and projects based in the services. Arts Ability Abuis a partnership project involving the following partners; Galway County Council, The Arts Council & Brothers of Charity Services Galway
Arts Programme in Galway University Hospitals; University Hospital and Merlin Park University Hospital . The Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust supports the healing process and enhances the well being of patients, staff and visitors of the University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park University Hospital through the integration of the arts into these health care environments. The work of the Arts Trust is founded on the belief that access to the arts promotes positive health. A generous, long-term loan of contemporary Irish Art for display in the hospitals initiated the arts programme in 2003. The programme has since grown to include a comprehensive arts programme that now runs on a year-round basis.
