Notice is hereby given that Galway County Council pursuant to Sections 19 and 20 of the above Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended by Sections 8 and 9 of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Act, 2002, Article 14 of the Planning & Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations, 2004, Article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the EU Flood Directive 2007/60/EC has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan (LAP) 2011-2017, a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Report and a Stage 1 Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening report for Tuam.

Minister for Transport Mr Noel Dempsey T.D. today announced that the preferred tender has been selected for the M17/M18 Gort to Tuam PPP Motorway. The National Roads Authority has confirmed that the BAM Balfour Beatty Consortium is the preferred bidder and they are expected to finalise project acceptance in the coming weeks with construction to commence early in the new year. Notice is hereby given that Galway County Council pursuant to Sections 18, 19, and 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended , Article 14 of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations, 2004, Article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the EU Flood Directive 2007/60/EC, is intending to review the Claregalway Local Area Plan 2005-2011 and the Kinvara Local Area Plan 2005-2011 and to prepare new local area plans for Claregalway and Kinvara together with Strategic Environment Assessment & Appropriate Assessment Screenings/ Full Strategic Environment Assessment & Appropriate Assessment if required.
